In Eastern Congo (DRC), the recent war left behind thousands of new orphans – children who saw their home collapse, their parents vanish, and their childhood disappear overnight. They now live with deep emotional scars, lacking event the basics of food, education, warmth, clothes and medical care.

In South Kivu and North Kivu (Eastern Congo – DRC), years of hardship, economic collapse, and restriction have made survival itself a daily struggle. Many orphans there live in poverty, deprived of stable shelter, proper nutrition, and access to school.

Burundi Refugee Camps, As of March 2026, Burundi is facing a severe, compounded humanitarian crisis, with over 66,000 Congolese refugees- 59% children-overwhelming reception sites. Thousands of children, including many unaccompanied, food, and clean water, basic sanitation, in some cases children dying due to disease.

nd Dzaleka Refugee Camp – Malawi: Orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi’s Dzaleka refugee camp are facing a severe crisis due to extreme overcrowding, severe funding cuts for aid (WFP-UNHCR), and lack of adequate services. With over 56,000 residents in a space designed for 10,000 – 12,000. Acute funding cuts and extreme overcrowding have created a desperate situation with critical shortages of food, education, clothes, basic sanitation and protection for thousands of children’s.
